Time and space for ideas

As the City of Munich’s artist-in-residence program we offer artists, curators, and scientists from all over the world space, time, and financial support – so they have a place to stay, work, make presentations, reflect, and participate in discussions.

Time for
experiments

We offer the time and space for open-ended, creative processes. These are more important to us than a perfect final product.

Space for
Exchange

We create encounters, exchanges, and networks in the Munich scene as well as in the “Five Lakes Region” with different event formats.

„The three months we spent together were magical. A lot of fun comes along with a lot of work, because artists love to do what they do.“

(Manoel Madeira, Brazil)

Our
Partnerships

We have partnerships with cultural institutions and artists in Munich. You can find out how you can become a partner in the residence program here.

Our partnerships

„The cooperation makes not only an exchange possible between the international guests and the local elements in Munich and diverse audiences, but it also makes it possible for them to use both institutions’ infrastructures.“

(Maurin Dietrich, director, Kunstverein München)
