Applying for a residency / grant

It is possible to apply for a residency as a guest artist through our open calls for applications, or by being suggested for the program by one of our Munich cooperation partners. Open calls are regularly published on our homepage. Proposals from Munich cooperation partners are welcome for the year 2027. Unsolicited applications will only be considered in exceptional cases – for example, when other artists cancel on short notice.

Artists suggested for the program must reside outside of Bavaria. A monthly grant of € 1,300 is associated with the residency as a guest artist. The legal basis of the residency in the artist residencies of the City of Munich is a rent- and grant agreement concluded between the City of Munich and the respective guest artist (see sample contract AiR Villa Waldberta and sample contract AiR Ebenböckhaus)
